I just got a Turnigy Accucell-6, it's my first digital charger and I'm a little overwelmed.
I need to set the 'current', I have no idea what to set it at. I can set it for 'auto' and tell it what the max current should be, or 'man' and tell it what what the current should be. I can set it to the nearest 0.1A (I'm assuming amps). I'm charging a 6-cell Ni-Cad with 2400 mAh. Could some one give me a good range of what current I should use? |

I'd say go with 2amps, that should be fine with that pack. Unless it starts to crackle and make popping noises near the end of the charge then you need to go less.

OK, thanks. What about to discharge? Should the amps be the same as the charging amps, or lower? How much lower?

You should discharge at the max your charger will allow. I normally just use in a vehicle till done.. lol

If thats a 6 cell sub-C pack (the big stick pack that usually comes stock with rtr's), I've always charged them at 5 amps with no problems, (im kinda impatient) they just get a little warm. But as 4mods said watch for the popping and crackling noises. But if it's the small 2/3A cells that we stick on the axles I wouldn't go over 1 amp.

you can easily go 3 amps with that pack..as mentioned by everyone just monitor the temp of the batt while charging and as long as your not getting to warm/hot your good
