It all began with a 7' piece of brake line and a stripped scorpion.
After daydreaming for an hour, the clutch moment arrived and the light came on...HOW MUCH chassis does one really need? The first spec drawing was of the trans mount, the 'bare minimum for length and width". This philosophy was followed through out the design.

Next was the profile of either side. Not wanting to alter the location of links moved me to copy the exact shaped of the scorpion U shaped chassis sides with my new philosophy. The apex shaped cross members and copper work finished the tuber and welcomed an AWOL MP pilot.
"One Sick" attended Exile rc round 1 at the cove, running smooth to a 5th place finish! Next, we hit the road for tour of IOCO! Taking 2ND PLACE! The cat is out of the bag... This tuber is "SICK".....in more ways than ONE (1) On the road again, North to Duke point, where my skills leave more to be desired. With no mechanical or structural issues, it was just another comp until COURSE 6 gates 3 - 4.... A killer descend of 6' over 30". End for end followed by an eerie crunch with no bounce........Medic!...Medic!.... Stat!
The Uber Tuber was in pieces, MP unconscious, unresponsive. After peeling him off the course, gasps ( and laughs ) This tuber was thrashed...
R.I.P. " One Sick Comp Tuber"
Until ROTM nomination, the tuber lay dormant, only a memory. The MP simply drank away his sorrows...The older he got the better he was....Until funding came through....!
Replacement list
Novak brushless " The GOAT "
- Proline m3 hammers regular foam-
The soul of "ONE SICK" was alive. "ONE SICK" appeared at Exile rc round 3 at the cove, HE.....COULD......GO.......ALL.....THE.......WAY...... If the SAVAGE torque didn't eat 4 drive shafts, 4 rim hexes, surely the 3rd gate of course 5 and gravity would exposed another weld failure after a 5' fall.
Still no rest for the wicked, The learning keeps me interested and wanting more.
Thank you for all the time and support! |
